    The video is very good, but the music is very distracting and WAY too loud, I can't see where to turn it off.

      I agree on the annoying music. Would be more helpful to listen to the technician talking his way through the steps of the replacement.

    No mention that the outer bolts are meant to be replaced as they are single use stretch bolts or that the inner bolts usually seize inside the bush so you have to cut them out

    I forgot to raise the knuckle , therefor , loading the springs before tightening the bolts. Now the car has rear camber and is undriveable🤣 but easy fix! I'll just loosened it up and raise the knuckle and rebolting it up. Thanks !

    You CAN use only these tools to do this job, but that is contingent on having enough space for leverage. If you are servicing your vehicle in a dilapidated driveway, attempting these projects with minimal kit is not advisable in the slightest. Not to knit-pick further but those suspension bolts are single use and should be replaced during this service.

    Nice video! You used a white marker pen to align a washer prior to tightening a screw. If I miss the alignment, what should I do? Thanks

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  4 года назад +2

      Thank you for your comment.
      In any case, after this replacement, even with a marker, you will have to go and do the wheel alignment at a specialized stand. Approximately, the mark will happen only in order to get into the collapse correctly.

    Great video. I'm looking to replace the bushings instead of the entire arm but can't seem to find the correct ones for the hub side. Are they the same bushings for both ends of the arm? Thanks

      Each step of replacement is quite unique when do a car repair, hence we cannot display all problems when replacing. Moreover it is not so easy to handle them yourself at home. To avoid this, we always recommend specialized car services.

    I just want to know what he used to lower the control arm? Can I just use a jack?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Год назад +1

      The mechanic used a hydraulic stand but if possible you can use a jack.

    Do both control arms have to be replaced at the same time or its fine to replace only one side?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Год назад

      It is recommended to replace both levers at the same time if necessary.

    I have a question, I have a 2003 vw passat b5, and the rear lower control arm looks identical, is this the same part? Or is it discontinued or something? I can't seem to find the part anywhere.

    I've just done mine and I hat to cut the adjustable bolts to get them out. I bought the all parts from autodoc but the adjustable bolts are short so now I'm worried about the safety. On the autodoc app it doesn't specify the length of the bolts.

    Don’t listen to this, while yes this is how you do this it doesn’t mention how the inner bolts corrode to the bushing and are practically impossible to take off
